 2012

29/05/12 - In the same place the day before, we planted native trees to reconstruct the riparian forest. Always with the locals, so they feel welcome and continue caring about what was planted and of the nature itself.

28/05/2012 - Removal of garbage in the bank of the Pampa river, for future tree plantation. This place has no trees and because of that suffered greatly from erosion and siltation. Also was made an water analisis, maded by macroinvertebrates.

2011

11/10/11 - Santa Catarina College received the 1st place in the environmental competition O Rio dos Sinos é Nosso (Bells River is Our), which involved schools in the 32 cities that compose the Bells River watershed. The college stood out for excellence in education and teaching quality through the GISA project, developed by students of 73 class and coordinated by teachers Eliana Müller de Mello (Portuguese) and Cíntia Bonenberger (Science).

    A Letter of Commitment was elaborated by the students, with the orientation of the Portuguese Language teacher, wich was sent to the public bodies of the city of Novo Hamburgo and the Canudos Neighborhood Association, with the purpose of presenting the solutions observed  by the students themselves. The letter, elaborated by the students, and also with in writing ideas from their parents, had the intention of making a commitment with the public bodies of Novo Hamburgo.
